Hello Family and Friends,
How are things going around there? Today was a fun day I spent the day with my district and we went to a soccer stadium near our area. It was pretty cool I got some pretty neat photos taken of the field and some of the history behind the stadium, it was built in 1965. Has seating capacity of 75,000 people, its pretty large and from the outside it looks like that great coliseum in Rome.
This week has been pretty normal except that we had a baptism on mothers day. It was pretty special her name is Hescília she is 53 years old. She has been trying to be baptized for the longest time, to be exact 13 years of waiting, any rate about 13 years ago was the time that the first missionaries came into contact with her house. At that time all of her children were baptized, but because she was not married she was not. Over the years she was trying to get married, but her husband who didn’t want anything to do with the church refused to consider the idea. So she waited and kept going to church off and on for the past 13 years and about 4 weeks ago her husband died. Her interest in being baptized increased and on Sunday without anything to stop her this time, was baptized by her son Thiago, who is getting ready to serve a full time mission.
Take care.
Love,
Elder O´Brien
